Flair Solutions brand identity and web system

01 / Background

Flair Solutions was a new company, not a new team. Its founders had fifteen-plus years in heating, cooling and ventilation and were opening up across Farnborough, Aldershot, Farnham, Guildford, Woking, Bracknell, Basingstoke and Greater London. Every competitor in that corridor looked the same: blue gradients, clip-art fans, a phone number in a starburst. The brief was to make a company with no trading history read as the most credible installer on the shortlist, and to do it in one pass across identity and web rather than two disconnected projects.

02 / Challenges

No trading history to lean on

A new name cannot borrow trust from case studies or reviews it does not have yet. The identity itself had to carry the credibility, from the first van livery to the first quote document.

A category that all looks alike

HVAC branding in the region converged on the same blue-and-chrome language. Blending in meant being priced against the cheapest quote rather than judged on competence.

Four services, one promise

Heating, cooling, ventilation and air conditioning had to read as one capability rather than four separate trades tacked onto a logo.

One mark, many surfaces

The same asset had to survive a 14mm embroidery on a polo shirt, a van door, an invoice footer and a retina hero image without redrawing.

Web and brand on the same clock

The site had to launch with the identity, not three months later, so structure and visual language had to be decided together.

03 / Solutions

01

Airflow as the core idea

The mark is a rotating aperture of tapered arcs. Read one way it is a fan, read another it is moving air. It gave us a single geometric idea to express four services, and a motif we could reuse as a graphic device independent of the logotype.

02

A palette with a temperature range

Amber through to a deep red: warm at one end, hot at the other, which quietly covers heating and cooling in one gradient of the same hue family. No blue, which put clear distance between Flair and every regional competitor.

03

A three-part lockup with rules

Wordmark, service descriptor line and the 'Here For You' endline, with defined minimum sizes and a mark-only variant for small applications. The descriptor tells a first-time visitor exactly what the company does without a tagline having to work twice.

04

Tested on the hardest backgrounds first

The mark was drawn once and then proofed as colour on white, single-weight knockout on black, and pale on saturated orange. Anything that failed the knockout test was removed from the artwork rather than patched later.

05

Collateral before comps

Notepads, mugs and print pieces were mocked before any web layout, so the identity was judged as a physical thing an engineer hands to a customer, not as a logo floating in a presentation.

06

A web structure built around the decision

The site was sequenced the way a homeowner decides: who are you, what does it cost, how do you work, what can you do, who says you are good, book it. Seven sections, one action colour, one primary call to action per screen.

07

The motif as page architecture

Rather than repeating the logo, the arcs were scaled up into sweeping background geometry that carries the eye down the page and ties every section back to the mark.

06 / Outcomes

A mark that works at every size

One drawing serves van livery, embroidery, invoice footers and a full-width web hero, with no separate small-size redraw needed.

Visible separation from the category

The warm palette and airflow geometry put Flair in a different visual bracket to the blue-and-chrome regional field, which is what lets a new company be judged on competence instead of price.

A site structured for enquiry, not for decoration

Every section drives toward one booking form, with a single action colour used only for actions.

One team, one pass

Identity and web were decided together in six weeks, so the site launched in the brand rather than approximating it.
